Yesterday it was Katherine, today a ‘Code Yellow’ has been called for the Royal Darwin and Palmerston Hospital. The chaos continues unabated.

How can the Chief Minister continue to hold the position of Health Minister? Under normal rules, it is three strikes and you’re out!

Today’s ‘Code Yellow’ comes on top of a further six ‘Code Yellows’ at the Royal Darwin Hospital over the last 18 months with shut-downs in February 2021, August 2021, two in September 2021, February 2022 and August 2022.

Elective surgery lists at the Royal Darwin and Palmerston Hospital are currently under review, and some surgeries scheduled for the coming days being deferred.

There have been promises for additional mental health and aged care beds outside of RDH to alleviate the pressure on the hospital, what is the status of these beds Chief Minister? Or has the funding been diverted for other pet projects in Labor Electorates.

The Chief Minister’s performance is nothing short of a disgrace and she needs to step aside as the Health Minister.

Chief Minister, the NT Health system is in crisis! It is time to stop the chaos and dysfunction and start delivering for all Territorians.
