Enough is enough, it's time for this lot to go
Today we announced that we will be lodging a "Motion of no Confidence" in the Government. One of the most serious things that can happen in a Parliament is a "Motion of no Confidence" on the incumbent Government.
Listening to the people of Alice and further afield in the Territory the message has been loud and clear, the people in the Territory have lost confidence in the Fyles Labor Government.
The fact that it took national media to highlight the issues of Central Australia to finally push the Territory Government into action says everything.
Our decision to lodge this motion was not done lightly, again, this is one of the most serious actions that we can take. The last time this happened was in 2019 and before that in 2016.
The Fyles Labor Government have failed in its primary duty to keep the people of the Territory safe, with residents fearing for their lives at work, at home, at school and even getting the groceries.
They have failed to provide frontline services in critical industries like health, and Police, with the Alice Springs hospital alone understaffed by 130 nurses and midwives and our police numbers in crisis.
If the vote is lost by the Government they would have two options, they can resign and advise the Administrator to commission someone else, or the other option is to call an election.
We would be asking for an election, this is a decision for every Territorian.
