There is no surprise in these latest crime statistics. Crime continues to rise at never before seen levels. This is no beat up, these are the facts. 6 920 incidents of Property crime in Alice Springs over the 12 months ending March 2022.

The CLP opposition have continued to back in our police by attempting to bring in harsher penalties for assaults against workers in Parliament. Labor voted them down. We tried to have the Bail laws changes to stop the revolving door of offending, Bail - release and reoffend, Labor voted that down as well. We have tried to get a Parliamentary Select Committee created to look at crime and come up with solutions, again Labor voted that down . We will continue to lobby Government to make changes so as there are consequences for offenders. Something needs to change.
