Police Minister completely out of touch

The Police Minister is completely out of touch with own department.

Being out of touch with the community is one thing but the Labor government’s Police Minister took it to another level today, demonstrating she is out of touch with her own poltfolio.

Today in question time I asked Kate Worden how she could justify closing police stations like Harts Range, which services the communities of Engawala and Bonya, to send 40 additional police to Alice Springs, effectively leaving that area without any immediate Police response.

The Minister was like a Deer in the headlights and her response was to completely avoid the question and her attempts to change the topic made it clear it was news to the Minister.

We know Labor doesn't listen to the community about crime but when they don’t even know their own portfolio, there are serious questions to be answered.

What then rattled the Minister even more was a supplementary question I then asked "how many other remote stations were closed for the same reason other than Atitjere".

After 37 seconds of awkwardly trying to avoid the question, the minister was forced to sit down because it was obvious she didn't know and was just looking foolish.
