The crime emergency we face in Alice Springs is an unfolding catastrophe and the town needs immediate support from the Federal Government.

We are not being supported by the Fyles Territory Government so we are calling on the Prime Minister to step in, we have written a letter to the Prime Minister this week asking for the plight of Alice Springs to be elevated to a national emergency, with resources allocated as a matter of national priority.

There is precedent to send in Federal resources during times of crisis and emergency, such as flood, fire, cyclone, or Covid, we advised the Prime Minister. There is a crisis and emergency in our community, and that is our safety.

We have asked that the Prime Minister immediately allocate AFP resources to save Alice Springs.

We are working to provide additional support to the community’s call for Federal assistance today, launching a Save Alice Petition, which can be signed at www.SaveAlice.com.au.

I urge the people of Alice Springs to sign the online petition as it is another tool we can use to put further pressure on the NT and Federal Government to take action to help our town.
